From 27 July to 12 August 2012, The Olympic Museum in Lausanne offers a program called “London3“.
After 1908 and 1948, the British capital hosts the Olympic Games for the third time. To celebrate this, a series of events open to all will mix nostalgia with current events. An introduction to now-disappeared sports, films, dance, a broadcast of the opening ceremony of the Games and of the competitions on a large screen are proposed… in a wholly British atmosphere: Welcome to London!
As part of the celebrations, The Olympic Museum, through their links with Big Dance have commissioned Wayne McGregor | Random Dance to create a performance for 20 local participants. Set to the specially commissioned Big Dance Trafalgar Square 2012 score written, performed, produced and mixed by Scanner and Joel Cadbury, published by Chester Music Limited and Campbell Connelly & Co Limited and featuring the costumes created by Studio XO there will be 8 performances including one just prior to the live screening from London of the Opening Ceremony.
