Dancing Voices – Older People’s Programme

Wednesday, 11 July - 3pm-5pm
|
Queen Elizabeth Hall, Southbank Centre, Belvedere Road, SE1 8XX |
Older dancers and singers from across London will come together to perform Dancing Voices at the Queen Elizabeth Hall.
Directed by Natasha Gilmore with music direction from Fi Cunningham (VoiceLab) – the performers will take you on a journey from 1948 (when London first hosted the Olympic Games) to the present day, bringing to life influential music tracks from each of the decades sung live by a choir. Strongly influenced by iconic moments in history and contemporary culture this promises to leave the audience uplifted and ready to dance them-selves. A social dance will follow in the Queen Elizabeth Hall Front Room.
Dancing Voices is a major event as part of Big Dance 2012 and the Capital Age Festival and is produced by East London Dance, Southbank Centre and Voicelab.
